About
Snowball Y Improved Cauliflower (Brassica Oleracea) is a heavy-yielding, open-pollinated heirloom variety that produces smooth, snow-white heads typically 6–8 inches across on compact 24-inch plants. It is a self-blanching strain — the long outer leaves naturally curl over the developing curd to shield it from sunlight, so no manual tying or covering is needed. Heads mature in 57–68 days from transplant, making it one of the faster-maturing cauliflower varieties available. A cool-season annual native to the Mediterranean region, it grows reliably across USDA Zones 3–12 and performs best when head development falls during mild temperatures rather than peak summer heat. The heads are tender, mild, and versatile — suited for fresh eating, steaming, roasting, and freezing equally well.
