Beit Alpha Cucumber Seeds

Start Beit Cucumber seeds after the danger of frost has passed, or wait 1–2 weeks more if your spring runs cold. When you put cucumber seed in cold ground germination will take a long time. Sow Beit Cucumber seeds 1 inch deep, with 18–24 inches between plants, and keep rows around 48 inches wide so the vines have room to breathe and move. For good germination (6–10 days), the soil should be between 75–85°F. 

Give these plants full sun and rich, well-drained soil with a pH around 6–6.8 to encourage root development and plenty of fruit. Avoid heavy wet soil, but keep it evenly moist, especially once vines start running and setting fruit. You can consider putting on trellis, so your cucumber fruit stays clean, and plants get extra airflow. In containers, watch moisture even closer, because pots heat up and dry out faster than garden beds.

A trellis or vertical support helps more than people think. It lifts the cucumbers off the soil, improves airflow, and makes harvest less of a scavenger hunt. Harvest with shears when fruits reach about 5–8 inches long, and pick often so the plant keeps pushing new cucumbers instead of slowing down.
