Bright Lights Mix Sulphur Cosmos Seeds

Direct sow Bright Lights Cosmos seeds after your last frost date, or start indoors 4–6 weeks early in seed trays. Don't bury the seeds deeper than ¼ inch, because they need light to germinate. Keep soil temperatures around 65–75°F (18–24°C) and Sulphur Bright Lights Cosmos germinate in 7–10 days. Once seedlings hit 3–4 inches, thin them to about 12 inches apart to avoid overcrowding. 

Cosmos Sulphur Bright Lights flowers need full sun, at least 6 hours a day, as plants in partial shade get leggy and flower poorly. Soil quality matters less than drainage: Cosmos Sulphureus Bright Lights will grow in poor, sandy ground without complaint, but waterlogged roots will kill them. Fertile, nitrogen-rich soil pushes lots of leafy growth and fewer flowers. Once established, these plants are drought-tolerant and rarely need watering unless there's a prolonged dry stretch.

Cosmos Bright Lights don’t require staking, fertilizing or mulching. Pinch the growing tips when plants are about 6 inches tall to make bushier plant with more flowering stems. And deadhead spent blooms regularly to keep the plant producing. For bouquets, take flowers that are just cracking open.
