Lemon Cucumber Seeds

Plant Lemon Cucumber seeds after the last spring frost when the soil temperature is 65–75°F. In cold soil germination drags out to two weeks or the seeds rot before they sprout. Plant seeds ½ inch deep in hills spaced 4–5 feet apart, 3–4 seeds per hill. Once seedlings reach a few inches, thin to the 2 strongest plants. A drip line or soaker hose beats overhead watering, which leaves wet foliage sitting overnight and invites mildew.

Harvest when fruits reach golf-ball to tennis-ball size and are fully yellow. Leave them on too long and the seeds turn hard, the skin toughens, and the plant slows down production.
