About
Coral Zinnia (Zinnia Elegans) is a warm-season cut-flower annual that produces 3- to 4-inch dahlia-form blooms in a soft salmon-coral shade. The plant reaches 24 to 36 inches by midsummer across USDA Zones 3-10. Most growers buy Coral Zinnia seeds for cutting gardens, butterfly borders, mixed cottage beds, and small flower gardens near the house. Coral Zinnias are heat and drought tolerant. A healthy plant gives 15 to 25 flowers over 10 to 12 weeks, and the rule of thumb — the more you cut, the more they push. Zinnia flowers suit well for pollinator gardens, as they attract insects, including monarchs, swallowtails, and bumblebees.
